Find out about how lipsticks are made as part of our Florence Discovery Day!
Traditionally, lipsticks were made out of naturally occurring items such as beeswax and mixed with various spices and minerals to create the desired colour. Haematite which can be found at Florence Mine, was once one of those materials used to create a deep red lipstick.
Our demonstrator, Mike James will lead everyone in the creation of their own lip product in this workshop. Participants can choose from turmeric, beetroot, cinnamon, or cocoa powder to use in their lip product.
This workshop is for ages 8 - 16.
Please contact us if you have any additional access needs. Our centre is wheelchair accessible with parking on site, ramped access to the studio door and level throughout. We have an Access toilet.
